Pedro’s Story
Pedro is 17 months old. At his young age, Pedro teaches all who have the privilege to know him extraordinary life lessons. He has a complex diagnosis: Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type I. He relies on technology to breath and eat. He has been hospitalized several times and has suffered many complications. When we take care of Pedro, we feel an infinite peace; he is a warrior who has overcome the adversities that his illness has imposed on him. Pedro has a wonderful family; his parents, siblings, grandparents, other relatives and friends understand the special care needs that Pedro requires better than anyone else. Every day with Pedro and his family, we remember the importance of palliative care and, above all, the true meaning of unconditional love.
